Exercise #5 - Getting it into Your Life

This is a fun exercise because everybody is a little different.

How did you choose to engage with your core identity statement?  Is it working or will you make some changes?  You may find that you get new ideas as you keep reflecting on your core statements.  I encourage you to keep revising them when the inspiration strikes.  Remember, these statements are not written in stone (unless you chose etching as your way to incorporate them!) and can be whatever you want/need them to be.

Let us know!

  1. I've been practicing Mental Pilates for some time ... arguably over a year. During that time I have made significant and lasting changes. One of the most important factors that has helped turn my lifestyle changes into beneficial habits has been to choose things I really enjoy instead of feeling like it's something I "should do." With regard to this exercise, I chose one of my favorite hobbies to depict my core identity - a scrapbook page!! I've been continually updating a digital page.

  2. I have been practicing mental pilates for awhile too and have come up with this dynamic scrapbook wall thing. I blogged about it in an earlier session and even took a picture. Feel free to check it out at http://mentalpilatesblog.blogspot.com/2010/02/inspiration-center.html

Since then I have added a pin that says thrive, a bumper sticker that says "be present", a one-day guest pass to the Y because I didn't want to lose it, and numerous add-ons to my statements. Its getting a bit cluttered but it still speaks to me. What really helps is that I see it first thing in the morning when I get up.
